On 20 Dec 2007 the Kovintrade Group held its annual business conference, where the reports on business operations of the group in 2007 were presented by the Management Board members of Kovintrade d.d. Celje, by the managerial staff of the company as well as by the managers of the subsidiary companies and representations. The business operations in the year 2007 were considered to have been very successful. The conference also included the presentation of business plans for the year 2008.

The Kovintrade Group opened the new business premises in Ljubljana.

On the new business premises, located at the address Brnčičeva 45, our business partners in the field of metallurgy both in wholesale and retail will be offered a wide assortment of products, a professional approach as well as additional services of material cutting and preparation for processing or production. In co-operation with our business partner Buderus, the ground floor will house a showroom of heating equipment for our end-buyers. There will also be an expert group of engineers available at the location to perform the supervision and control of heating, air-conditioning and ventilation equipment. In the more spacious and friendlier working environment of the new premises our staff will make every effort to satisfy the requirements of our business partners to the best possible extent.

The investment worth 1.5 million euros was officially opened by Mr. Tomaž Jeršič, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Mr. Iztok Seničar, Chairman of the Board of the company Kovintrade.

Mr. Marjan Feguš, already confirmed as a new member of the supervisory board at this year's General Assembly, was elected chairman of the supervisory board at the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the company Kovintrade Mednarodna trgovina d.d. Celje held today.

The 12th Shareholders' Meeting of the company Kovintrade d.d. Celje was held on 28 June 2007 with 86,5% stock present. All submitted conclusions were accepted.

On April 20th 2007 Kovintrade Praha, the daughter firm of Kovintrade d.d. Celje, Slovenia, signed the contract with the Czech building firm Tomek from Olomouc about building the regional warehouse for metallurgy and welding. The warehouse will be situated in Frydlant-Ostravica, on the Czech-Polish-Slovakian frontier and will be earmarked mainly for supplying the Czech and also Polish and Slovakian market with the Slovene products.

The business operations in the year 2006 were considered to have been very successful. The conference also included the presentation of business plans for the year 2007.

On 29 November 2006 the long name of our company is changed from "KOVINTRADE Zunanja trgovina d.d. Celje" to "KOVINTRADE Mednarodna trgovina d.d. Celje". The short name of our company is not changed and remains KOVINTRADE d.d. Celje. There is also no change to the seat and address, register number, VAT identification number and tax number.

The Board of Management convenes the 11th Shareholders' Meeting of the company Kovintrade d.d. Celje, which will be held on Tuesday, 27 June 2006, at 1 o'clock p.m. in the meeting room of the company Kovintrade d.d. Celje, Mariborska 7, Celje.

Ivana Hlavsova, the Ambassadress of the Czech Republic in Slovenia, and Vladimir Randaček, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Czech Republic in Slovenia, visited Kovintrade d.d. Celje. To the Management Board they talked about economic cooperation between Slovenia and the Czech Republic and about activities Kovintrade performs in the Czech Republic. The guests visited the new Warehouse Centre Kovintrade in Celje too.

Kovintrade Celje, Slovenian foreign trade company, is doing very well this year, making 10 billion tolars of income from sales in the first five months, which is 57 percent more than at the same time last year. Its pre-tax profits in the first five months of this year were 384 million tolars, almost reaching last year's total. Last year the company made 388 million tolars of profit.

The new warehouse centre is considered the greatest investment of the company Kovintrade so far. It is situated in the industrial zone Štore II in the Celje municipality. The warehouse facilities were officially opened on 21 Oct 2005 by Mr.Janez Božič, the Slovene Minister of Transport, together with Mr.Iztok Seničar, the Chairman of the Kovintrade Management Board and Mr.Marko Zidanšek, the Deputy Mayor of the Celje City Municipality.

The warehouse centre will be used for storing of ferrous metallurgy products, such as sheets and coils, sections, tubes, bars, reinforcing bars, reinforced concrete netting.
The inside of the warehouse, constructed in three sections – aisles, covers the surface of almost 10.000 sqm, and the outside storage facilities the surface of 2.500 sqm. The maximum storage capacity of the warehouse is 15.000 tons, depending on the type of material in stock. The location of the facilities has been selected due to the provided industrial rail and road connection.

The material handling in the warehouse will be performed by means of bridge cranes with installed automatic scales, through which the goods enter and leave the warehouse. For the operation of the warehouse the modern WMS software will be used, a barcode-based system, without paper, with wireless portable terminals - barcode scanners.

The prime objective of the new warehouse centre is to provide a quick and quality service for the buyer, with its strategic goal aimed at increasing the market share of the company in Slovenia as well as abroad, and thereby strengthening the position of Kovintrade as a wholesaler in metallurgy.
